Bass fishing, kayaking, picnicking in the open-air gazebo overlooking Prairie Lake, taking wedding pictures and walking the trails surrounding Prairie Lake are all activities enjoyed recently by both residents and friends of Prairie Run.
Additional residents enjoy bird and butterfly-watching over the wildflowers that surround Prairie Lake or along the mowed trail around the 2-acre retention pond or the 10-acre wetland conservancy area. Running “Fido” through the conservancy can be a great training exercise and also a treat to experience the best of “mother nature”. Often encountered are geese, ducks, herons, red-tailed hawks, sandpipers, gulls and of course deer and turkeys.
In the future, the vision includes a park-like setting for a community building overlooking Prairie Lake for resident get-togethers, anniversaries and birthday parties. In time it may also include senior and kiddy pools along with locker rooms and a game room area.
The park wouldn’t be complete without some outdoor activities such as tennis and basketball.
Lastly, the vision includes all residents’ to be within easy walking distance of unique eateries and fine coffee and yes, close to specialty shops and daily services. These shops will be located in both Phase I and Phase II of Prairie Crossing, all within Prairie Run where “everyday is special”.
